Images, emblems and who owns them
Many sanctuaries, dioceses, religious orders and the Holy See protect their official logos and coats of arms, and some — Fátima, for example — require the rector’s permission to use the shrine’s brand. Jubilee and papal-visit logos are licensed. Photographs of saints and popes are often copyrighted.
Our approach is simple: we draw our own artwork from the architecture, the place name and traditional symbols that belong to everyone. If you are the shrine or hold written permission, we use your official emblem exactly as specified. We never copy an emblem we have no right to use.
What we never do
- Use official logos, coats of arms or seals without written permission
- Crop sacred images into decorative patterns
- Print figurative images for Muslim buyers, or verses on items that may touch the floor
- Use leather in goods for Hindu or Jain buyers
- Put images of the Buddha on footwear or floor items
- Make goods that mock or trivialise any faith
- Claim that a product heals or brings luck

Do the mock-ups cost anything?
No. Digital mock-ups are free. If you do not order, the artwork stays with us and is not used for anyone else.
Who owns the final design?
You do, once the order is paid. We may show it as an example of our work unless you object.
Can you work from an old photograph or a statue?
Yes. We draw from photos you take or that you have the rights to.
